COMPANY HISTORY
Acme Manufacturing Company is a collection of seven different divisions that supply various metal products to hardware stores, manufacturers, distributors, and OEMs across the country. Organized in 1986, Acme has operated under current ownership since 1992 and currently employs over 200 people.
Previously known as The SteelWorks Corporation, the company changed its name to Acme Manufacturing Company in January of 2006. Originally, The SteelWorks Corporation was exclusively a manufacturer and distributor of metal shapes to do-it-yourselfers in the retail hardware trade.
Today, Acme also manufactures perforated angle and strut for the garage door industry through our GarageWorks Steel division, and lawn edging, stakes, staples, and pins for the landscape industry through Coyote Landscape Products.
In 2001, Acme acquired Nostalgic Warehouse, a supplier of vintage-style door hardware to the “home restoration” market. As a complement to the restoration line, in 2005, Nostalgic Warehouse launched Grandeur Hardware, a high-end line of decorative door hardware targeted to the custom home builder.
In June of 2006, the company acquired Perfection Chain Products, a manufacturer and distributor of chain used in a variety of applications in the electrical, plumbing, trucking, store fixtures, and swingset industries. Perfection Chain operates out of a 75,000 sq. ft. manufacturing/distribution facility in Cullman, Alabama.
In June of 2010 Acme formed All America Threaded Products (AATP) by combining the operations of five acquisitions made in the threaded products industry. AATP manufactures a wide variety of threaded products including threaded rod, studs, anchor bolts, u-bolts and threaded product “specials,” used for various applications in numerous industries. All America is headquartered in Denver, Colorado and has an additional 97,000 sq. ft. manufacturing/distribution facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
In February of 2016, Acme added a state-of-the-art plating line, giving the company in-house plating capability, as well as the ability to do outsourced plating for third party vendors.
2020 brought more big changes to Acme with the introduction of Regal Brands. Established as a new parent company for the family of door hardware brands, Regal Brands includes Nostalgic Warehouse, Grandeur Hardware, and the new Ageless Iron Hardware brand. The portfolio of companies represent products that offer distinct styles for a wide variety of homeowner preferences.
Acme’s headquarters, administrative offices, and primary manufacturing and distribution facilities are located in a 160,000 sq. ft. facility at 4661 Monaco St. Denver, Colorado. Regal Brands operates out of an adjacent facility at 4607 Monaco St., Denver, Colorado.
